A pioneer of the first generation of contact improvisation, Nita has been a global influence for over 50 years as a dance artist, researcher, and lecturer. She has conducted extensive research, written, and lectured on themes such as performance and communication. At the young age of 75, she will be touring East Asia, visiting Shanghai, Korea, Hong Kong, and Kagoshima.

Based in Kagoshima Prefecture, this collective of artists organizes the biennial international contact improvisation festival, i-Dance Japan. Based on contact improvisation, they propose artistic and intellectual ways of engaging with the body. It's called
